Negative Capability DVD
Thanks to Apple computer, Sony video cameras and my own creative ability, I can now offer my readers a DVD of original and cool content.

It all started with an invitation to Yale to speak about alternative media. Michelle Chen started the Alternative Media Center there to expose students to the wealth of underground publications and in order to get people interested, she encouraged them to become the media rather than just passively consume information. I thought it was a great idea, so I offered to design a flyer for the event and speak about zines and Negative Capability. In addition to my presentation, there were people representing Rooftop Films, who show super-indie movies on a rooftop in Brooklyn during the summer, GNN (the Guerilla News Network) who showed a great film about 9/11 and Iraq at the event, Jeffrey Yamaguchi of the excellent zine Working for the Man, Joe Smith from Red Roach Press and some local activists and indie media people. Some of us gave our own presentations and then afterwards, I moderated a panel discussion about all the topics that were brought up in our speeches. We also took many interesting questions from the audience and the conversation was pretty lively.

Once I had that, I wanted to add other stuff that was related to the zine. I did a reading in Brooklyn in 2005 and I added that footage. Then I took some hilarious footage from various sources that I have converted to DV and added that as bonus material. I even put some hidden stuff on there just to make it interesting. It’s just $12 for two full hours of content, which includes free shipping!

I don’t have any reviews yet because it’s a brand-new product, but if you order it and are the first person to review it, I will grant you access to the secret part of the site where you can find all kinds of things that will get me cease-and-desist orders, lawsuits and the agonized cries of parents everywhere.
